Our Ponmo (White) Package contains premium hot-water-scraped cow skin sourced from a mature male bull. Carefully cleaned and parboiled with hot water, it is prepared to achieve its signature light colour, smooth texture, and satisfying chewy bite. Unlike Brown Ponmo, White Ponmo is not roasted, giving it a milder flavour that readily absorbs seasonings. Naturally versatile and loved in Nigerian cuisine, White Ponmo is the perfect addition to soups, stews, sauces, and other traditional dishes, adding texture and richness to every meal.

Defrosting Instructions

You can safely defrost your frozen meat pack using any of the following methods:

Method 1: Refrigerator (Recommended)

Transfer the frozen meat pack from the freezer to the refrigerator and leave overnight. This is the safest method and helps retain freshness, flavour, and texture.

Method 2: Cold Water Bath

Place the sealed meat pack in a bowl of cold water. This method is highly recommended when you need to defrost the meat more quickly.

Method 3: Running Water

Open the package, place the meat in a bowl, and run clean water over it while gently separating the pieces. This method is not highly recommended but can be useful when you're short on time.

Method 4: Microwave Defrost

Use your microwave's "Defrost by Weight" function. Monitor carefully to avoid partially cooking the meat during the defrosting process.
